Garanti BBVA has signed a risk sharing framework agreement to finance investment projects

Under the agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Garanti BBVA will prioritize its investment in high performance sustainability for those who want to improve their businesses at the same time funding investment projects.

Garanti BBVA has signed a Risk Sharing Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to fund investment projects. Under this Agreement the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be given a 50 percent subsidy so that commercial and financial loans can be provided by Garanti BBVA. The Bank will be able to share the risk with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development up to 50 percent of each eligible loan. Sustainable performance and corporate objectives will be considered in all investments that will be considered in the scope of this agreement.

To provide information on this matter, Garanti BBVA Chief Executive Officer Recep Baştuğ said, “As Garanti BBVA, we transfer the burden of risk to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on loans that meet the stipulated conditions. We will share half the risk with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for loans provided to companies”, explains the Garanti BBVA.

The fact that the loans that are shown in the sustainability procedures will be included in this space makes Garanti BBVA become even more satisfying. “We believe that banks have an important role to play in addressing the challenges of sustainability,” he added. In this regard, Garanti BBVA will make sure that corporate loans can meet the criteria for sustainability.

This risk sharing agreement strengthens international trust in the Garanti BBVA. Thanks to the strong cooperation with the international institutions, the bank will continue to stand by Turkish companies for all their financial needs in the near future.
